Wedding Day Poem

Today is a day you will always remember
The greatest in anyone's life
You'll start off the day just two people in love
And end it as Husband and Wife

It's a brand new beginning the start of a journey
With moments to cherish and treasure
And although there'll be times when you both disagree
These will surely be outweighed by pleasure

You'll have heard many words of advice in the past
When the secrets of marriage were spoken
But you know that the answers lie hidden inside
Where the bond of true love lies unbroken

So live happy forever as lovers and friends
It's the dawn of a new life for you
As you stand there together with love in your eyes
From the moment you whisper 'I do'

And with luck, all your hopes, and your dreams can be real
May success find it's way to your hearts
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys
But today is the day it all starts

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being an ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Wedding Day Poetry: United Hearts

God has brought you here together
To be united in His love
Joined in Holy Matrimony
With faith in God above

Let your faith guide your lives
With a measure of God's grace
For this is what keeps love strong
Through whatever you may face

Keep building your marriage on
The foundation of Christ
It will not crumble or give way
Through the daily pressures of life

But it will stand the test of time
Growing stronger day by day
Just keep your hearts truly united
Joined as one when you pray

The cord that binds your hearts
Will not fray or break in two
When you build your lives on God
He will walk with you.

~ M.S.Lowndes

Hindu Marriage Poem

You have become mine forever.
Yes, we have become partners.
I have become yours.
Hereafter, I cannot live without you.
Do not live without me.
Let us share the joys.
We are word and meaning, unite.
You are thought and I am sound.

May the nights be honey-sweet for us.
May the mornings be honey-sweet for us.
May the plants be honey-sweet for us.
May the earth be honey-sweet for us.

Wedding Day Poem: To Be One With Each Other

What greater thing is there for two human souls
than to feel that they are joined together to strengthen
each other in all labor, to minister to each other in all sorrow,
to share with each other in all gladness,
to be one with each other in the
silent unspoken memories?

~ George Eliot

Wedding Day Poem: These I Can Promise

I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old.
But I can promise all my heart's devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that's ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.

On Your Wedding Day

Good Luck! Congratulations!
Best Wishes! Cheers! Well Done!
The future's full of promise and
Its only just begun
You're starting on a journey
A new, exciting life
Together, as a partnership
As husband and as a wife
Adventures, thrills and choices
Are waiting just for you
The road will have some turnings
And perhaps a bump or two
But you'll be strong together
You'll come through every test
Your love will deepen week by week
Be happy, All the best!

Wedding Day Poem: From This Day Forward

From this day forward,
You shall not walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter,
And my arms will be your home.

Wedding Day Poem: This Day I Married My Best Friend

This day I married my best friend
...the one I laugh with as we share life's wondrous zest,
as we find new enjoyments and experience all that's best.
...the one I live for because the world seems brighter
as our happy times are better and our burdens feel much lighter.
...the one I love with every fiber of my soul.
We used to feel vaguely incomplete, now together we are whole.

Wedding Day Prayer: Prayer of Love

My marriage prayer for you is this:
That you always remember the qualities that attracted you
to each other when you first met and how you felt as your feelings
of attraction turned into respect, admiration and finally love.
That you will work hard to turn your feelings of love into acts of love
so that nothing and no one can divide you.
That you will always have kind and loving hearts that are quick
to ask for forgiveness when you are wrong
as well as to forgive when your partner is wrong.
That your love might grow to hear all things, believe all
things, and hope for all things, endure all things.
I pray you place your marriage in God's hands, and that your
love increases and overflows, beyond anything you can yet imagine.

And a prayer which has stood the test of time:-

Wedding Prayer

Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow,
for the health, the work, the food,
and the bright skies that make our lives delightful;
for our friends in all parts of the earth.
Amen

~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Our Wedding Prayer

May we Love
Even when the other is unlovely
May we multiply each other's joys
And divide each other's sorrows

May our home be a haven of peace
In the midst of the storms of life
May we be patient and understanding
Especially when the other needs it most

May kindness be imprinted
Upon all are words and deeds
May goodness and righteousness be our mark
Even when it is unpopular

May wisdom be a light unto our way
And a lamp to guide our path
May we each delight in our beloved
And be forever captivated by the love of our youth

May self-restraint and faithfulness be our guide
In the midst of life's temptations
May health and prosperity follow us
Wherever we may go

May laughter and friends and family
Always fill our home
May forgiveness and graciousness be freely given
And humbly accepted

May we live to see our children's children
And may they rise up and call us blessed
May we seek the Lord's guidance
In all that we do and in all that we say

And may we dwell in God's grace
And under the shelter of His wings
As long as we both shall live.

~ Charlene Q Kalebic

For A Special Couple On Your Wedding Day

Love grows deeper, stronger,
and more beautiful
when it is planted by God
...Kept in His Will
...Nourished by His Word
and warmed by the sunshine
of His ever-abiding presence.
May you always walk together
in the happy ways of love
Trusting in the grace of God
To lead you from above.
