The poem, "The Pleasure of Friendship" by Steve Smith
(1902-1971) is simple but ideal as a verse in a card to a friend.

This is a lovely modern friends poem, I'd love to know who the author is...

If two hearts are meant to be friends,
no matter how long it takes,
how far they go,
how tough it seems,
fate will bring them together
to share friendship forever.
